WHY THIS PROJECT EXISTS
Pydibhimavaram is an established pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing area on the northern coast of Andhra Pradesh. Industrial demand has outgrown dependable freshwater supply, and groundwater is used to bridge part of the gap.
The constraint is practical: manufacturers need continuous process and utility water to protect production and plan expansion. A dedicated source from the Bay of Bengal can supply the cluster without placing additional pressure on groundwater.

In September 2022, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation issued a competitive RFQ for a 35 MLD desalination plant for the same Pydibhimavaram industrial cluster. The project was planned to expand to 50 MLD and included the intake, treatment plant and distribution network.
THE WATER SYSTEM
Reverse osmosis uses pressure and membranes to separate water from dissolved salts. The product stream is conditioned for customers. The concentrate stream follows a separately engineered return route.

FOD reports three signed customer letters of intent covering approximately 3 MLD, with commercial discussions involving six manufacturers. The next step is to convert that interest into binding water purchase agreements for the first module.

FOD is designed as more than a single plant. The treatment system is organised in containerised modules that can be fabricated, tested and shipped to site.
Shared marine works, storage and trunk infrastructure create the base. Repeatable treatment modules add capacity as new customers sign long-term water agreements.

Modules are assembled and tested in a controlled environment before shipment.
Containerised units arrive ready for rapid connection to shared site infrastructure.
New capacity is added when customer demand is contracted.

THE COMMERCIAL ENGINE
Develops the customer, technical and financing programme and prepares the project SPV for delivery.

The model is built on monthly water payments, not a one-time equipment sale. Long contracts, rising plant utilisation and later capacity additions can compound the value of the original intake, treatment and pipeline investment.
